The Registry is an interactive database, accessible through the Signum Web site, which contains up-to-date contact details of users who watermark their work with SureSign software.
The Registry is accessible, 24 hours a day, so it's easy for users of watermarked images to identify, locate and contact the provider, thereby reducing the risk of copyright law infringement. In addition, Signum Technologies (and a growing number of third parties) provides SureSign detection software for free to allow open access to watermark detection.
When the SureSign detection software finds a watermark, the displayed watermark ID can be entered into the Registry's search facility above and, within a few seconds, the image provider's contact details are displayed. In addition to providing postal and email addresses, telephone and fax numbers, hot links are also shown for URLs (where available) allowing rapid contact with the image provider's Web site.
Users who do not have access to the Internet may fax or telephone Signum who will search the Registry on their behalf during normal working hours.
