To use CyberSleuth, first place the mouse cursor over the JPEG image you wish to search for a fingerprint and hold down the mouse button. A pop-up menu appears. Select Open this image from the menu, and the JPEG image will be displayed by itself in the browser window.

Four CyberSleuth functions are available from a pop-up menu which is displayed when you place the mouse cursor over the image and hold down the mouse button. The four functions are described below.

1. Options

First, you should set the two options which determine how you work with CyberSleuth:

  1. Work offline. When you work offline, if a fingerprint is detected in an image, its details are displayed on screen using a CyberSleuth dialog. However, if you do not work off-line, the Signum Technologies' web site is loaded by the browser, and it displays the results of the search, including image details.
  2. Use a new window. When you select this option, while you are working on-line, the Signum web site is displayed in a new browser window when you search for a fingerprint on a JPEG image.

2. Search for SureSign fingerprint

Select Search for SureSign fingerprint from the pop-up menu to search for a fingerprint on the JPEG image:

3. Signum Technologies...

Select Home Page from the sub-menu to launch the Signum Technologies web site.

Select Email from the sub-menu to send an email to Signum Technologies.

4. Save this image

When you select this option, the JPEG image is saved to disk.

Image Logging

Each time CyberSleuth detects a fingerprint on a JPEG image and you use the Signum Technolgies web site to display the details, the image's details are recorded on the Signum site.
